Why BARE exists

BARE first launched in 2019, at a moment when dating apps were already beginning to feel crowded and scripted. From the outset, BARE was created for open-minded people who wanted to meet beyond rigid categories, easy certainty, or predefined outcomes.

Since then, the dating landscape has changed significantly. Swiping fatigue has deepened, conversations have become more transactional, and the promise of connection often feels buried under endless choices. The interest in BARE never fully disappeared, and neither did the questions that led to its creation.

Life circumstances and a series of timely coincidences created the conditions to return to BARE. With the benefit of distance and reflection, we are relaunching with greater clarity, a more focused product, and a stronger value framework. The full launch is planned for summer 2026. Rather than being a linear restart, it is a considered return, shaped by what we have learned and by what the dating landscape now calls for.

Our dating app is for people who see dating as fluid rather than fixed.
